I'm a 47-year-old from Brisbane, Australia, and I served in the Royal Australian Airforce for 12 years as an Aircraft Technician, and after I discharged, I went on to work for Qantas Australia.
WHY DID YOU START USING DEFENCE SPORTING APPAREL:
I was buying Airforce shirts overseas from America when I saw Defence Sporting Apparel on Facebook; I noticed you're Australian based. I thought, "about bloody time."
I like the fact you showcased the whole of the Australian Defence Force Military, not just the Australian Army. Some people seem to focus on the Army, but to me, we're one whole family.
I have a full collection of caps, stubby coolers, and the ned kelly designs. I would hate to think how much I've spent and I don't even want to look at my Afterpay account haha.
I've spoken with some kids who don't know about Anzac Day, Galopili or Vietnam. We took some kids to the local RSL (The Returned and Services League), and it upset me when they did not stand for the last post.
It's important to support Australian business and wear Defence Sporting Apparel to show and educate the younger generations what our heroes have sacrificed for. So we can live this great life in Australia that we do. We need to get the recognition out there like they do in America.
WHATS DSA DONE FOR YOU PERSONALLY:
It's enabled me to go out into the local community and show that I'm a Veteran. It's important to me to raise awareness of how many Veterans signed the blank cheque, that was willing to give their life for this country.
I was glad someone in Australia started doing it. I found the site easy to use, and the designs caught my attention. We needed this for so long.
I was recently in Townsville with a former Sergeant, and a good mate of mine and strangers were coming up to me and asking me where I get my shirts from, and I always tell them Defence Sporting Apparel.
Hawaii or the Gold Coast
ON THE BUCKET LIST:
I'm going to keep riding my motorcycle, spending time with my wife, showing my pride, and live my best life!
